3 Day fes to Marrakech desert tour

DAY 1: Fez – Ifrane – Midelt – Erfoud – Merzouga Dunes
departure in the morning of your riad towards Merzouga where the dunes of sand of the Erg Chebbi are, One of the 9 hours trip of Fez which takes you through the Atlas mountains in the south of Morocco, has the great oasis of Tafilalet, composed of numerous villages, palms and Kasbahs. We will make stops along the road in the alpine town of Ifrane and Azrou the cedar forest where are the monkeys, Midelt for lunch. The valley of Ziz the panoramic and impregnable view on the palm trees, the green valley in the middle of the Sahara. Then we will drive to the sand dunes of Erg Chebbi. We continue deeper into the landscape of the desert, until the dunes appear in the middle of nowhere, trekking back camels to cross the dunes, night in a bivouac of Berber tents.
DAY 2: Merzouga – Gorges of Todra – Ouarzazate
After sunrise in the dunes, camel ride back to the hotel at the dunes line for breakfast and a shower. We head to Ouarzazate via the Todra Gorge (300m high) canyons where you can leisurely hike and lunch at a local restaurant. We continue along the road of Thousand Kasbahs, because there are huge kasbahs on both sides of the road. Some of these ancient fortified houses are restored, but unfortunately many of them are ruins. We pass through the Dades Valley and the Roses City before we witness the palm trees of Skoura where a large number of Kasbahs such as (Amrhidil) surrounded by gardens and palm trees. 45 km further, we arrive at Ouarzazate for dinner and overnight at the hotel.
DAY 3: Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – High Atlas – Marrakech
After breakfast, we can enjoy a visit of the movie sets and studios located in Ouarzazate which is known as a Moroccan Hollywood. Then we will visit the Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou Universal Heritage Site as it was named by UNESCO in 1987. Ait Ben Haddou it is a fortified village and it is the World Heritage Site that has been used as a canvas of background for several films including Gladiature, Indiana Jones and Lawrence of Arabia … Enjoy a walk to explore the traditional Berber architecture in which the Kasbahs are built. We continue our way to Marrakech through the Atlas Mountains and Tizi n’Tichka passes. Lunch break in the middle of the high Atlas mountains. Back to your Riad, Hotel, Marrakech.
